Unity is Strength ~ A Catalyst For Change

Khaya Varindzi is a transformative conservation ecosystem where wildlife protection and community empowerment converge. A central pillar is the rescue, rehabilitation, and temporary safeguarding of Africa’s most vulnerable big cats, alongside the advanced training of anti-poaching rangers with the implementation of K9s, forming an unyielding alliance against wildlife crime.

Khaya Varindzi functions as a dynamic hub for training, education, research, and opportunity. Rangers receive elite skills development, communities gain access to employment and industry training, and children are inspired through immersive eco-education. Through partnerships and hands-on volunteering, the facility embodies a future where people and wildlife thrive side by side.

Behind this vision stand Drew Abrahamson, lion conservationist and Founder of Captured In Africa Foundation, and Carl Thornton, Founder of Pit-Track K9 Conservation and Anti-Poaching Unit. Together, they bring decades of frontline conservation experience, strategic partnerships, and operational excellence to create a facility unlike any other in South Africa.
